Let's KiT
Komensky in Tanzania (KiT) is a registered non-profit making organization in the Czech Republic with the core motive to financially help talented students in Tanzania towards their education.
KiT started its activities unofficially in December 2006 and from April 2010, KiT has been officially registered in the Czech Republic as a non-profit making organization.
What
We decided not to follow the mainstream. Rather we have chosen the way of supporting particular highly talented and hard-working individuals. And to give them a chance to study A-level what is not easily accessible for common children. Our decision was driven by the fact that A-level studies are vitally important for further academic career and needed for getting the government or other stipends.
How
Our organization is managed by four coordinators from the Czech Republic. In Tanzania, we have one coordinator who used to be one of our first supported students who nowadays works as a secondary school teacher. He is in touch with the schools and students and he also helps us to find the best candidates for our possible support. The students are being chosen according to their school results, school recommendation, family financial background and the cover letter in English.
Who
KiT is comprised of a chain of friends in the Czech Republic who through trust and friendship, sponsor the students in Tanzania towards their education. There are four non-paid organizers in the Czech Republic and one coordinator in Tanzania (who gets limited financial support towards transport or communication expenses).
