Looking for the new candidates

Dear friends and KiT sponsors,

Due to various issues with the latests candidates we are in the middle of the process of interviewing and assessing teh new candidates. They are now writing the essays and we are hoping to take on board for this school year 2-3 new students. Also we will be discussing on the next KiT members meeting the plan of increasing our annual support from 20,000 czk (2 mil tzs) to at least 30,000 czk/year.

We will keep you posted about the chosen date and place for the meeting.

Letter to sponsors

Dear friends and KiT fans,

we would like to share with you some of the latest news which hopefully will make the sad autumn days a bit brighter :)

We were pleased to welcome in Czech republic one of our students Agnes. She found a free weekend during her international workshop in Vienna. She spent the majority of the free time with Simon and Veny but we managed to organize a few meetings with other KiT members. Agnes is very nice and skillful young woman. Upon her return to Tanzania, she sent us a very moving letter in which she wrote that she was sincerely grateful to KiT for the "incredible support and generosity" we have shown in sponsoring her studies at high school and university. This support had a profound impact on her career path and life in general. Thanks to KiT, she was able to study at a private school that had committed teachers. It inspired her to continue on to the field of radiotherapy, which she successfully completed. She then went on to study in Ireland. Thanks to KiT, she was able to focus on school and fulfill her dreams without having to worry about financial constraints. Today she works at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute, she works with the Tanzanian Ministry of Health, she is active in the all-Tanzanian organization that associates radiotherapists, and also in the organization Women in Nuclear, for which she participates in international meetings. Agnes promises to stay in touch with us and help us with KiT. She's currently reaching out to Tanzanian schools to recommend new students we can support.

Deborah wrote to us that she was doing well. She is proud to be allowed (as she writes) to study at the best Tanzanian university in Dar es Salaam. Her bachelor's degree is in chemistry. The beginnings were a bit challenging for her (as for any fresh student), but now she is very satisfied. She even won a presidential scholarship. He is currently on an internship at the Tanganyika Plantation Company (TPC), where he is trying to understand the process of sugar production from cane. She says she is very grateful for everyone's support and sends lots of love and blessings.

Yaely successfully obtained a government loan and is now studying marketing, tourism and event management. We will get more information.

Naomi is in her second year of studying IT, she recently wrote to us that this year was great and (hopefully) successfully completed both semesters - she is still waiting for the final results, but she feels very good about the tests. She is currently in practice at the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), where she is primarily involved in networks and their maintenance. She sends greetings to all!

Mariam thanks a lot for the support and is looking forward to November when her new semester begins. She sends many greetings and blessings to all and writes that she is very grateful and that thanks to us she has learned to help others herself. Before returning to school, she supports her loved ones and works in a small family shop selling drinks and snacks.

Loyce is twenty years old and has been studying accounting at the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) since October 2022. If all goes well, she should finish school next year. If she succeeds, she would like to continue to her bachelor's degree, where she wants to pursue accounting in combination with IT.

As we wrote to you, Izack successfully graduated from A-level in May 2023 and joined the army. He started working in the police force last year. He praises the job, writing that it is not easy to get a job in Tanzania. Izack is currently in Zanzibar, where he is being trained in a riot control unit. He said he would continue to study later. He thanks all the sponsors very much for the support that allowed him to get to where he is today.

In the foreseeable future, we will be selecting other suitable students to support their studies. As mentioned above, Agnes, who has already received several essays from "poor but talented" students, will help us with this process. We are already looking forward to new faces of KIT.

Enjoy the autumn!

Letter to sponsors

Dear friends and KiT sponsors,

just a week ago we returned from our adventurous expedition to Tanzania. It was great, we highly recommend a visit to this colorful and friendly country!

One of the highlights of the trip was undoubtedly a big celebration, where we met among others our former students Emma, Pendo and Lydia (Kazungu). It was really nice to see how they grew up to be great, hardworking and skilled people.

We also heard a moving speech by Venuska's sister, the pastor Angela. She sends you his heartfelt greetings, thanks and blessings. And in the photo in the section DOCUMENTS you can see how many of us met :)

Still full of a lot of new impressions (we are happy to tell any time) we send an update on the activities of KiT – of which we are convinced even more than before …

University students
Last year, Debora and Yaely started studying at Dar-es-salaam University. Both students are fine, very healthy and thank you for all your support. Yaely successfully obtained a government loan and is now studying marketing, tourism and event management. Deborah studies, as she writes, chemistry in the "best program". According to her words, she always wanted it.

Naomi wrote us a beautiful letter, in which she thanked us very much for the support, which enabled her to fully dedicate herself to the university, to obtain study materials, aids and to take some extension courses. For the second year running, she has been intensively involved in IT and writes that thanks to her studies, she has also grown up a lot – even though it was not easy for her in her freshman year in a new environment. She learned to live independently and to organize everything necessary. She has good results in exams and even managed to complete a practical internship. Our support, she said, “has given her the power to make positive changes and to inspire those who are afraid to follow their dreams”. Sending greetings to all :)

Mariam, who studies electrical engineering, is in her second year at the university. Last year, she struggled with a state loan, partly supported by her father. We sent her 2 million TZS from KiT funds before the end of the year.

Izack graduated from A-level in May 2023 and, like Deborah, had to enter military service in June. Since then we have unfortunately lost contact with him, we will try to reach out to August, who recommended him for KiT. As soon as we know anything new, we'll be in touch.

New student
In the KiTu committee we decided to support a new student, Loyce Samsor, thanks to a financial reserve.

She is 19 years old, her father is a farmer and her mother is a seamstress. Loyce also has two brothers and a sister. She is currently studying accounting at the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) high school and would like to continue to do so – ideally in conjunction with IT for her bachelor's degree. Her dream is to open a clothing store.

Former students
We also heard from Rose – she and her husband have a beautiful one-year-old girl and after the wedding they moved to the area near the big lakes, Victoria (Mwanza). They both work at at rural hospital, where Rose has opened a small pharmacy thanks to the course we paid for her.

Finally, a small technical detail – at the end of January we sent out a Gift Receipt Confirmation, which you can use for your accounting, I believe that everything arrived in order.

Thank you so much for your constant support, we wish you a beautiful early spring and we look forward to seeing you soon!

News from Naomi

Dear friends and KiT sponsors!

We bring you more news, this time from Naomi :)

Hello,

It has been four years since you generously supported me in pursuing my higher education, and I can't express my gratitude enough. My name is Naomi Winford Kimambo, and I stand here as a transformed individual, all thanks to the KiT organization that fully supported me throughout my journey.

I started my journey after completing my O'Level studies when I received support to continue with higher education. In July 2020, I joined Arusha Science High School, where your sponsorship provided me with financial security to fully immerse myself in the curriculum without any worries.

For my university studies that began in 2022, I am very thankful for your support, as I was able to purchase books, stationery, computers, and other facilities, pay for accommodations that enabled me to start my university life and pay for extra courses outside of classes.

I am currently in the first semester of my second year of study, majoring in a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. University life has taught me management, prioritization, and self-sufficiency skills.

My first year was challenging, as it was my first time being self-dependent and trying to adapt to a new environment. But throughout the year, I am grateful that I excelled well in my academics, where I ended up getting a good performance, as my results were a 3.8 GPA.

After my first year of study, I joined The Industrial Practical Training for two months where I learnt more skills that have helped me to be prepared for the working experience. In The IPT program, I learned more about Data science, project management and web development.

I appreciate your support throughout the years, and I pray that God continues to bless you as you support students in Tanzania. Your generosity has given me more than just the ability to educate myself; it has given me the power to contribute to science, make positive changes, and inspire those who fear to chase their dreams. Thank you for your kind heart and support.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Naomi
