Genral meeting invitation

Dear friends and KiT patrons,

we'd like to invite You for a general meeting happening this Sunday April 4th 2016 at 4 PM. It will take place somewhere in Prague 6. We will specify this in one or two days. We are checking the possibility in Divoka Sarka. We'd like to ask those who will not be able to arrive to send somebody instead.

The agenda will be similar to the last year one - something about the new students, last year summary, some administration, finances and that should be all.

As always we are working on the last year report. Furthermore we are also discussing if we will send it to You in advance before the meeting or afterwards so that you will pay attention during the meeting ;) One way or the other we will send it to You electronically for sure.

One more thing - post probably we will arrive there about an hour in advance so You can as well. There is a playground with sand for kids and beer is there as well.

Looking back

Dear friends and KiT patrons,

thanks a lot for Your last year financial support and welcome in the new year! We wish You good health, a lot of new experiences and good mood ;)

We'd like to inform You shortly about what's new in KiT.

Finances first: in January 2016 we sent to Emma in Tanzania 45.000 czk including transfer fee. Last year leftover was about 4.800 czk. That's together about 4 mils TZS what is the amount of money we were planing to distribute among our 4 new A-level students - Angelina, Jackline, Baraka and Godfrey. After that the Prague bank account status is exactly 1.000 czk.

And now something about our successful fundraising which helped us to get more monoey at the end of the last year:

On his last December birthday party Mira rejected to receive any present in exchange to let everybody to give any amount of money to KiT. The final overall amount is 4.900 czk. Thanks a lot!

Simon decided to sell peeled walnut from his own garden and to support in that way Kazungu to enable her to continue in her birth assistant studies. He gained 3.700 czk. GREAT JOB, SIMON!!! :) The next following course will most probably start this October. If there is somebody thinking about direct support of Kazu (we know at least about Mara) both we and Kazu will much appreciated.

Simon together with JYSK (company for which is Simon working) did hit the bulls eye with the preXmas raffle. Thanks to this event will Kit in February receive 7.200 czk. We'd like to take this opportunity to send many thanks to our biggest company sponsor so far!!!

Furthermore we will receive money from another Xmas raffle from Guarant, Veny's employer. This event final amount is KiT will receive is 6.800 czk. This money should serve as support for Godfrey during summer holidays. Also many thanks!!!

Last but not least: At the beginning of January it was agreed with Simon's sister Betka about closing KiT related account for HOST TZA and it's support to this non-profit organization. During the time this organization managed to get its own ICO and bank account as well and therefore there is no need for further support from KiT. Financial alignment for accountancy for HOST will be sorted out by the end of this year.

We provided to those who asked for it confirmation letter for taxes for giving money to non-profit organization. If there is still anybody who'd like to receive as well You can still contact us and we will provide it.

And this year we are most probably going to transform our non-profit organization status from "občanského sdružení" (civic association) into "spolek" (association or club). We will provide more information soon.

If You managed to read this "short" news up to this point we thank You a lot :)

Have a great time and we hope in your ongoing support.

End-of-the-year Overview

Dear friends, dear sponsors,

the end of the year is coming therefore we think is time to stop and look back and do a little sum up.

While being flooded by not so positive news we've got very good one – Komenský v Tanzánii (KiT) is working :) All our current students are doing good and we are very happy about their achievements.

All our current students are doing good and we are very happy about their achievements.

It's unbelievable how fast the time is running - next year we are going to celebrate 10 years of our existence. We think it's a considerable achievement for a non-profit making organization run by a group of Czech volunteers in cooperation with one Tanzanian coordinator.

The next year views are auspicious. We should be able to cover the basic needs of our students. Nevertheless, in our KiT committee, we have agreed that it would be great if we would be able to provide a bit more. Unfortunately, it is not always clear how the exchange rate will be changing or whether school fees won't be higher.

We'd like to thank you all for your long-term respect and support of the KiT.

We wish you all Merry Christmas and a start of the new year 2016 as good as possible.

Money for Rose

Dear KiT sponsors,

Just a short info - we've sent needed money to Rose at the end of the October (altogether 28.500 CZK – admin. fee, hostel, part of Academic fee etc.) so that she would be able to continue in her studies at the Catholic University of health and allied science (CUHAS). These are additional costs for us comparing to what we were expecting but after checking all the available info we've found out that these were really necessary.

Last news from Rose is that she has already entered the University and mainly that she's received the 100% loan for her studies from the government. That's what we were waiting for. Because without this loan she could not continue in her studies as we would not be able to support her (approx 50.500 CZK per year).

Sending of Money

Dear friends and sponsors,

we have sent money (50,000 CZK including the charges) to Tanzania for our University students so that they are able to keep on university studies.

All went OK and Emma received it and has transferred it to the Agness, Gregory, and August (we’ve received a confirmation e-mail from Agness and similar confirmation via WhatsApp from Gregory and August). Gregory has received approx. 18 thousand CZK; Agness 16,5 thousand CZK for accommodation and August 4,8 thousand CZK. (Godfrey, our new student, has received a pocket money 2,400 CZK). The rest of the money is now on Emma’s account.

We are going to send next money by the end of October / beginning of November. The money should be for the second semester of our A-level students and most probably some money for Rose’s University studies as well. We are still waiting for the news from them.

If anyone of you hesitates with sending money now or later, please be advised by saying: “Who gives quickly, gives twice” ;)

Our new students (Angelina, Jackelin & Baraka) should soon leave for holidays. We are encouraging Emma to remind them they should send news about themselves and about their school. (at least the school results). Godfrey has returned from his holidays already and now he is back to school.

We’ll be in touch ;)
