News from Naomi

Hello KiT friends!

Towards the end of the cucumber season we have for you a message from Naomi. Enjoy the reading :)

Hello,

I hope you are all doing well, to my side am doing well. This is a summary of how my first semester at the university went.

COURSE:
I am currently studying at the University of Dodoma, taking a Bachelor of Science in computer science. My course takes three years to complete and mostly focuses on programming, data structures, algorithms, computer systems, and software engineering.

LIFE AT UNIVERSITY:
My life at the university is currently doing so well that I have learned to adapt easily to the environment. I have managed to prioritize my studies most, manage my time also seek assistance, and participate well in extracurriculars to balance the academic demands.

On the other side, the issues of limited resources and lack of access to technology have been a great challenge for me and also most of the students here in general when it comes to practical learning and hands-on skills as compared to my former school. also, the delay in receiving student loans had been a great problem, but thanks to your support I could get everything well at the moment.

ACADEMICS
Concerning my academics, I thank God that I was able to do well in my continuous assessments that included tests, quizzes, labs etc., and attained my coursework for each course, due to that I was able to do The University Exams (UE) and the good news is that I passed all subjects with great grades for the first semester without having any carryover subjects or supplementary exams.

PLANS FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER:
This semester I have planned to focus more on my studies, participating in and doing research projects and/or internships to improve my skills in the program and gain experience concerning the program. I have also planned to join student organizations and various student clubs so as to find or explore more skills and knowledge and get more opportunities that come with it.

Thank you very much for your generous support.

With regards,

Naomi

Money for Izac

Hello guys!

As I've have already told you all our three A-level students have finished the school with great results. Now they are waiting for the final result report. But before getting the results they have to join the army.

They will needed some little budget for special clothes, shoes and traffic.

I think that Deborah's and Yaely's parents will be able to pay for these extra efforts. But Izac is from a really poor family and because it would be very difficult for his mom to pay for these extras he asked us for a support.

His rough estimate is 140,000 TZS = 1,400 CZK and we are thinking about sending him these money. Furthermore we were thinking about sending him a bit more like whole two thousands, cause we are sure that he will have some other small extras but he is just afraid to ask. Do you agree?

Short info from Izac and Deborah

Hi guys!

I have a message from Izaca and Deborah - they are both already home after final state exams and have finished A-Level.

In Tanzania the president had again order compulsory military service. Therefore now they are waiting for the government decision where will they be allocated.

After finishing the military service it will depend on the school results where they will proceed with their studies - somebody will go to university, somebody will go to college.

Currently Deborah is taking IT course, but Izac is at home. His parents cannot afford to pay for the courses. Deborah and her mam have sent thanking letter.
